Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges, while best known as an actor and producer, has an ace up his sleeve in that he is also an accomplished Country/Americana musician.  Though music has long been a passion for Bridges, it was his role as Otis “Bad” Blake” in the 2009 film Crazy Heart (for which Bridges won the Academy Award for Best Actor) that really brought his musical talents to the forefront.  Most recently, he released an album produced by T-Bone Burnett.

He earned Academy Award nomination for the films The Last Picture Show, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Starman, The Contender, and True Grit.  Other memorable performances include the cult classic The Big Lebowski, as well as Fearless, Iron Man, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Jagged Edge, Against All Odds, The Fisher King, Tucker, Seabiscuit, Arlington Road, Tron and Tron: Legacy. Currently, Bridges co-stars with Meryl Streep in the hit movie The Giver.

Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox

Scott Bradlee first rose to prominence as a pianist working in the New York Jazz scene.  In looking for creative inspiration, he began reworking popular music as an exercise.  In 2009 he released “Hello My Ragtime ‘80s,” which incorporated popular music from the ‘80s with a ragtime-style piano.  But it wasn’t until 2012 that he would finally begin to gain popularity with his release of A Motown Tribute to Nickelback, a collaboration with local musicians which arranged Nickelback’s songs in the style of ‘60s R&B music.  Just last year he formed Postmodern Jukebox, a rotating group of musicians producing covers of pop songs in the styles of jazz, ragtime, and swing.  The group broke onto the public radar with their doo-wop cover of Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop”.

Psychedelic Furs & The Lemonheads

If you sit and talk to many of the alternative rock artists dominating today’s music, you’ll find that many of them pay homage to The Psychedelic Furs.  Led by frontman and songwriter Richard Butler, The Furs won over fans and critics alike y combining poetic lyrics, innovative rhythms and melodies driven by an aggressive punk desperation.  Through it all, the band scored major hits with “Love My Way,” “Pretty In Pink,” “Heaven,” “The Ghost In You,” and “Heartbreak Beat.”

A John Waters Christmas

John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) performs an unforgettable night of holiday mischief with his critically acclaimed one man show, A John Waters Christmas.  Waters pokes fun at the holiday season with adult-appropriate humor, effectively “putting the X in Xmas,” developing a show for the open minded and slightly left-of-center audience.

Regarded as a shocking entertainer, John Waters carefully chooses his material and exploits it through a dirty lens. “It’s my obsession with Christmas: what I want for Christmas, what you should want, how to handle every holiday disaster,” Waters saysHis rapid-fire monologue explores and explodes the traditional holiday rituals and traditions as he shares his religious fanaticism for Santa Claus, and an unhealthy love of real life holiday horror stories.  Delving into his passion for lunatic exploitation Christmas movies and the unhealthy urge to remake all his own films into seasonal children’s classics, “The Pope of Trash” will give you a Joyeaux Noel like no other.
